Tired of just having enough money to get by? Does it seem like there’s never enough?
If you’ve been wanting more money for quite some time and it just isn’t showing up, chances are you’re stuck in a cycle of lack. Ick! And don’t let anyone fool you, we’ve ALL been there. It’s easy to do.
What is a cycle of lack?
It’s that feeling that there just isn’t enough so we hold back on spending and we feel guilty when we do spend. Sometimes we feel our spending is completely out of control and do something rash like get a second job or put in twice as many hours in the job we have. We either burn ourselves out or we negatively impact our job because we just don’t have the energy to give 100%.
What can you do differently?
Typically, it does little good to solve a problem from the level of thinking that creating it in the first place. Any solutions you come up with, without adjusting your thinking, will likely create similar results in your finances. That’s why very few people you know have experienced exponential gains in their finances and why most people are putting in longer hours and making less.
How much money we can make is directly correlated with how much we THINK we are worth. Often, we let the world around us tell us what we’re worth including our employers, our economy, our industry, our peers, our past clients or our friends.
What I know for sure is that you’re worth WAY more than you realize. You have skills, knowledge and expertise that are as unique as your thumb print. The culmination of your gifts can be invaluable to others and could, in fact, change people’s lives.
My question to you is…
Are you owning them? Are you putting your full SELF in to giving these gifts to others? And are you ASKING for what you’re worth?
Now, I’m not a money coach but I am a mindset coach and I have several clients that when they came to me hadn’t ever asked for what they are worth. They never asked for a raise, they never tried to renegotiate their contract, they never attempted to create a second income stream or start their own business. Yet, once we began to work on their self-worth, every single one of them began to think of ways to give themselves a raise.
In fact, one of my clients, who was a doctor, renegotiated her contract giving herself a $25,000 raise! How? By communicating her value to her employer in a compelling way and offering to do something she knew would be invaluable to her company as well as a pure delight for her. She did such a great job expressing her value that they gladly said yes!
Today, I invite you to…
Take stock of the difference you can make with the skills you have. There’s no need to go get fancy certificates or degrees. That’s putting off what you can do today with what skills you have.
Instead, list out what you do really well that we be super helpful for others. It could be organizing spaces or time, delegating to employees with finesse, modifying broken systems, training others on how to be more confident in their sales. You’re worth way more than you realize and that you’re expertise has value to others. As you look over your list, see what ideas generate excitement for you.
Those are your golden tickets to making money doing something you enjoy. For those of you who want to create a separate stream of revenue, this usually means starting a business and it’s easier than you think. Especially if you have help. I’ll be sharing more later about how you can make money doing what you love.
